We opened a new missions base in the mountains!
This month, 3 of our missionaries and their families have answered the call from the Lord to move to the mountains of Nicaragua to start another missions base. We are excited for all the Lord will do through our new ministry in Matagalpa. We established a missions house and re-opened a feeding center down the street from our new missions house. We are already feeding about 100 children and street kids a day. The team is also going into the city and praying for people and sharing the gospel. Many people are being touched by the Lord in Matagalpa.
COVID Food Distribution:
The last 2 months we have given out thousands of pounds of food thanks to the help of other ministries in Nicaragua. In Nueva Vida, we distributed over 1,000 lbs of food in one day. Although Nicaragua has not experienced any mandatory quarantine, the nation is still feeling the effects of COVID as there is not sufficient health care or food for many people.
After many hard weeks of home schooling our 20 kids, we had 5 of our kids graduate from the 6th grade and one who graduated from high school! We are so proud of our kids, our staff and our leaders in the Ville Guadelupe community! This month we also have 2 of our boys entering into the English academy. We are proud of their determination and we are excited to see their dream of speaking English coming true.
A few months ago we finished the extension for our children’s area beside the Nueva Vida trash dump. Since then, we have expanded our scholarship program and have had long term volunteers create a weekly Bible programs for the kids. We have seen incredible growth in these children and we have watched as they have had beautiful encounters with Jesus.
In June, our ministry held a 2 week training school for Nicaraguans who have a desire to become missionaries. Also in the last month our ministry took part in evangelism trainings both in Managua and Matagalpa with our friends from The Last Reformation ministry. We saw many people saved, delivered and baptized in water and the Holy Spirit.
