Adventures With Jesus

Written by Joel and Tammy DeBortoli

Hello Family:
We always feel so thankful when we think of how God calls so many people from all over the world to partner with us and what He is doing in and through us in Nepal. Thank you for your agreement and support and thank you, Father, for your generous goodness!

Children’s Home:
Our kids are all doing well. All are growing in maturity and more and more in love with Jesus every day.

One of our sons, Prakash, just had a minor ear operation to repair his ear drum so he will stop getting infections. It all went well, praise Jesus!

Since launching The Freedom House Church, the older kids have truly took on roles of serving there. They lead worship, they plan the service, they manifest the love of Jesus to the people who come, they pray for the sick, and they listen to Holy Spirit and change the service when led.

They love to go on outreaches and do ministry whenever they have a break from school and their studies. Some of our older kids like to go on the Friday night outreach to the tourist and ‘red light’ district. They are so bold and so compassionate and loving... they truly know God and know who they are in Him.

The Freedom House
We have started having our weekly church service at The Freedom House and it has been great. We take a van throughout the city and pick up any of our homeless friends who want to come.

God has generously blessed us this week with helping us find a Godly, wise man to be the director of the farming and drug/alcohol rehab part. Raju loves Jesus, has a very kind heart, is very hard working, and has great wisdom concerning farming and agriculture. We have 3 men currently living there helping Raju to get the rehab/farming project up to full speed. Our goal is to have a maximum of 10 men living and working there by November 15th. After they get free from addiction and fall deeply in love with Jesus, our vision is to send them back to their villages as missionaries to share the gospel and minister the love of Jesus. It’s going to be glorious! Please pray that these who are seen as the lowest of the low in the culture here will realize their true identities as children of Almighty God and will lay down everything to boldly see His name glorified in Nepal.

Village Outreaches
A team just returned from an outreach to a village called Lumbini which is where Nepalis believe Buddha was born. Through a divine appointment, they partnered with a local pastor who has a church there. The pastor was so encouraged that God would answer his prayers send a team to help him with the harvest of souls. They saw so many healings that they lost count and around 15 people forsook their idols and received Jesus as their only Lord and Savior! All of the team members were so filled with joy when they returned to Kathmandu and felt honored and humbled to be able to see Jesus use them in that way.

We have a small team of Chinese female believers arriving today on their first ever missions trip. We are excited and filled with expectation that Jesus is going to expand their hearts for more of Him and more of His love. Please pray for the next two weeks that the fullness of all of God’s purposes are accomplished in and through these faithful daughter of the King!

We love you all dearly and cannot express our thankfulness for each one of you. None of this could be accomplished without your partnership.
