A father weeps as his prayers are answered

Written by Rachel Jane Wallace

A few weeks ago, one of our workers at Iris Mahajanga called to say that he would not be able to come to work, the wooden boat on which his eldest son was working had broken in the middle of the ocean and he wanted to go and try to find his son, not knowing if he would be dead or alive. He spent everything he had and caught a boat and travelled to another area where he felt the wreckage would be washed up and he said he prayed like never before. He said that during his time working for Iris Mahajanga, he had noticed that when Mama Rachelle prays no one gets sick and when my colleague Hoby prays things happen and so he poured his heart out to God and God answered his prayers. Although the boat and all the rice and fish it was carrying were destroyed, his oldest son was miraculously found alive and the father wept tears and tears of joy over him and could not stop praising God. The next day he came to our centre and introduced us to his son and family, we all celebrated and once again tears of joy ran down the fathers face as we celebrated the miraculous intervention of God and how his son who was lost is now found, and how his son who he feared dead is alive.
