Answered prayers and new beginnings

Dear Family and Friends,

In our last journal update we told you that our landlord had given us notice to leave the house we are currently staying in with the 23 children in our care.

It has been our long held dream to build family style homes on our own land so that our children can know the joy of growing up in strong Christian families, surrounded by a strong Christian community. We also need extra space so that we can offer a home to any other children needing our care, but we have not had the money to buy land and construct houses on it.

We fasted and prayed to our ever faithful God and, with the help of our friends at Iris Global head office, a sponsor was found to give us the money we need to buy land and build secure homes.

Our joy at hearing this news was great and as soon as the money reached our bank account we bought the land and started to clear the vegetation from it. Building of storerooms to keep building supplies in whilst the homes are built is well under way and our children, like us, are very excited!

We have to leave our current home towards the end of December so only have two months left to build our new homes. Please pray with us that we will be able to do this, and that we will be able to purchase all we need to turn our new brick buildings into comfortable homes for our 23 children. (Our needs currently include a borehole, a generator big enough to supply power to all the homes, at least 15 bunk beds, pots, pans, linen, chairs and tables etc etc! )

I am including some photos of the land, plus some photos of our children studying during the school holidays, all dressed up and looking smart as they prepare to go to school on the first day of the new school year, and still other photos of them just having fun!

With love and blessings from me and our whole family here in Conakry, Guinea.
