Meet Bemvinda Graca, another tiny miracle, saved and healed!
A few months ago, in an outlying suburb of Maputo, a friend of Iris Ministries heard what he thought was a deserted kitten mewling in the trash pile near his home. Never did he expect to find a newborn baby, abandoned to die and growing weaker by the minute.
After some investigating, and to his utter shock, he found out that the baby was his niece and that his sister had run away, leaving the baby behind.
Six months later, Bemvinda’s uncle continues to bring her to Zimpeto’s Baby Milk Program every week, where she is weighed and medically assessed, and where he receives milk formula for the week and advice about her care. He and the rest of his extended family adore this precious little girl and are raising her as their own. They have turned what would have been a tragic death into a beautiful life, naming her Bemvinda - “Welcome” - as a declaration of her value and acceptance, adopting her into a home where she has been received as a joyful addition.
God saved Bemvinda! His timing and ways are perfect and we’re so thankful for Bemvinda’s life. He has given her a second chance and she’s thriving, growing stronger by the day with a future ahead of her that is bright with possibilities.
