We’ve just recently finished up the very first Iris Global School of the Arts here in Savannah. One simple scarlet thread entangled the overall theme - ‘Beatific Vision.’ Oh how making Jesus visible through the arts is truly astounding.
The school was a 21-day intensive and INTENSE is not to be understated! From the moment of arrival of the dedicated staff, to the 14 students from around the globe, we INTENTLY dove into Jesus.
Worship always spills out after seeing. It’s the very revelation of His holiness vs our depravity that brings us to our knees. The pure and fierce love of our savior lovingly draws us to Him and then propels us outward!
Classes ranged from soaking in the melodies and the colors brought forth from the instructors and the students alike. There was demonstration and observation in the various streams of art by worship, lecture, application, and participation.
Partnered with our local Godbreed team, we had all hands on deck to receive the students and pour out ‘family lovin.’ So many testimonies came from the heart of ‘family’ being released through the humble spirit of hospitality. Isn’t it just like our loving God to use arts to reveal family.
A myriad of genres came together for this intensive. Students and instructors represented a mix of skills; dramatic writing, spoken word, film, graphics, illustration, jewelry, mixed media, performing arts, instrumentation, vocalists, psalmists and more all fully released their hearts and skills.
The school reached out into the community by hosting 3 conferences with a diverse group of ministers. Dan & Marti Duke shared the fragrance of the altar of incense and encounter, Jeremiah & Courtney Bowser spilled out treasures of brokenness out of a laid down life, Don Lynch released a heavenly authority that comes from identity, and Papa Rolland wrapped things up by bringing to light the reality of hell and the joy only found in Jesus. We can’t begin to write of the depths of the revelation that sprung forth.
Here’s to looking forward to continuing to release Jesus by making him VISIBLE through the arts.
Much love,
Jason and Regina and the entire Savannah Team.
