The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified. They shall build up the ancient ruins; they shall raise up the former devastations; they shall repair the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations.

Another year comes to an end, a year of many advances, a year in which the Lord opened doors for us to enter and exalt Him. He has done abundantly more than we could ask or imagine! We were able to contemplate His faithfulness in the Mission Schools in January and July. We were able to contemplate His presence in the Prayer Rooms in Complexo do Alemão. We were able to feel His care and love through the work with the children in both Complexo do Alemão and Acari. We have seen the Lord's zeal in each dental care outreach and in each service. We are incredibly grateful for the conviction that we are in the right place at the right time. We believe in what the Lord has poured out upon the city of Rio de Janeiro and we will continue to advance through each door that He opens, announcing His gospel, manifesting His kingdom and His justice in the dark places!
