The Nueva Vida trash dump sits right outside of the capital city of Nicaragua. It is an unregulated landfill where people and children forage to find food and anything that they can to live from. I want to tell you a beautiful story that came from this place. It is the story of the Father’s passionate pursuit and His redemptive love for every single one of His children. It is a story of beauty for ashes and stopping for the one. You see this isn’t just a landfill - it is also home to some of The Father’s most beautiful treasures.
I want you to meet Ruth. A few months ago, Ruth was hurting, she was angry and she had so many walls up. She would come to kids ministry each week because she liked our dance classes. She began to come alive as she danced and sang to Jesus. Then one day, the Holy Spirit crashed in on the kids after dance class. Ruth laid on the ground and just wept and wept. After her encounter, she drew a picture of a huge heart with herself inside of it. She said that when Jesus encountered her, He told her that she lived inside of the Father’s heart. Since that day, Ruth is no longer angry. She can’t stop smiling and she even loves to give hugs now!
Jesus even pursued Ruth’s mom, Anielka, After she saw the miraculous change In her daughter, she decided to give her life to Jesus too.
Ruth is filled with hope for her future and she is ready to leave behind her life in the trash dump. Ruth now gets to spend her days at school learning and making new friends! Through our ministry, Ruth has received a uniform, shoes and all of her school supplies. She will also receive weekly meals, tutoring, discipleship and many more opportunities to encounter Jesus and the love of the Father with us. Ruth you are such a treasure and we are so thankful to the Lord for your life that will one day impact your community and the nation. Thank you to everyone who makes it possible for us to help children like Ruth have a hope and a future!
