What a Mighty God we serve! For the past 6 months we have been going through many challenging times, and seen many hardships. But through it all, we have learned to rejoice in our great God, knowing that He is King, and He will prevail! This month has seen some fruit of that, as God has poured out some wonderful miracles and drawn many souls to salvation!
We went on an outreach to a remote bush village in our district of Mueda this month. The Lord’s hand of power went with us, demonstrating His great love with miracles, healings, and salvations! Before we left for this 3 day outreach, many people, when they heard which village we were going to, were afraid for us and said that we would not be able to see any fruit there because this village is very well known as a village full of witchdoctors and deep witchcraft. This made us all the more eager to go! Despite the warnings, we heard the voice of the Lord calling us to go, and we joyfully obeyed, bringing with us a team of fiery mamas from our local churches.
When we finally arrived at our destination after a 4-hour drive through the bush bush, we found out that we were staying at a home opposite the home of the main local witchdoctor. That made me happy! “The perfect place to be,” I thought! It’s time for God’s light to shine!
The village chief informed us of a good field to preach in, where we could also show the Jesus film at night. But on the second night, we all felt that we should set up, preach and show the film right outside our campsite. It was also right outside the home of the witchdoctor!
On the first night, we went where the Chief had shown us, and preached with all our might the power and love of God! After the film, we set up a fire tunnel with our mamas and visitors, and called the sick to walk through and be healed! Many, many people, including so many children came through the tunnel, and God’s love and power fell! I kept feeling led to call up the deaf, and so over and over, I called out, standing up on a chair to be seen over the crowds, asking people to bring their deaf friends forward. Eventually, a mama came forward who was both deaf and mute. I began to pray for her, and she could suddenly hear! I tried to get her to repeat some words after me, and she was trying to get her mouth to work, and a few little sounds were coming out, but she couldn’t quite form the words. She kept laughing and laughing, though, it was such a joyful moment! We kept praying together until she finally motioned that she had to leave, hugging me joyfully. I was praising God for His miracle of opening her ears, and I knew that she would speak again!
The next morning when we were getting ready to have some breakfast, the same mama came over to me, beaming and smiling! I made her some tea and bread, and brought it to her, and she suddenly started talking… and talking, and talking! She would not stop talking and laughing all morning! What a beautiful miracle! God loves us so much and loves to demonstrate His love for His people with healing and deliverance!
Later in the day, a woman walked over to our campsite and told us her sister lived on the other side of the village, and was very sick. So sick that she couldn’t get out of bed, and hadn’t walked at all in 3 years! She asked if we would be able to walk over to her house to pray for this mama. We joyfully accepted, and walked the distance through the village. We found a sick mama lying on a rope bed outside, covered by a blanket. My heart went out to her. She looked so weak and skinny and sick! We surrounded the bed, and began to worship God. I knelt down beside her, and laid my hands on her as we began to pray. After prayer, she was able to sit up, and we asked her how she was feeling. “My chest hurts so much, and I feel so cold!” She replied. So we prayed and worshipped again. We asked, “How do you feel now?” She replied, “I feel hot all over now! The coldness has left me! But I am nearly deaf too!” We laid hands on her ears and prayed again. We asked her, “How do you feel now?” “I can hear!” She exclaimed! “But I still feel pain in my chest.” We asked her if she had any witchcraft in her house. She denied that she did, but she did say that she had been to the witchdoctors before. We then asked her to stand up. She stood and started slowly walking around her yard, for the first time in a very long time! We made it halfway across the yard when she started manifesting a demon. We prayed over her, and when she was finished, she looked so much stronger and healthier, and the demons had left her. She walked all by herself back to her bed and sat down, beaming. She said she felt well! Then she told us that the night before she had had a dream that we had come to her and prayed for her and she had been made whole! Wow! God in His love had sent us to her, and had prepared her heart the night before to receive us! What a mighty God we serve!
That night we preached outside the witchdoctor’s house, and the area filled with a huge crowd! I preached, “God loves you! The power of Jesus Christ brings freedom and eternal life! Repent and come to God!” So many people responded to the call for salvation, and many, many souls repented for going to the witchdoctor. It was a glorious night! We set up another fire tunnel and were there for a long time as the crowd came through one by one to receive a touch from God! There were more healings and more demons cast out as people were set free by the love and power of a Glorious God!
The next morning, we had a church service under the big mango tree next to our campsite, and the lovely, now free mama that we had gone to pray for the day before, walked all by herself across the village and over to our service looking and feeling one hundred percent healthy, fit and strong! She got up and testified to the goodness and power of God during the service, and many people marveled, knowing that this woman hadn't walked in three years! Glory to God!
After the Church service, as we were about to leave, I was called around to the back of the house where a little, old mama was lying on the ground, looking gravely sick. Her sister had carried her over to us in the hopes of seeing a miracle. I was overwhelmed with compassion for this old lady, who was obviously in a lot of pain. I knelt down beside her and asked her what she was feeling. She was struggling to breathe, and gasped out that she has been struggling to breathe for weeks. She was bone thin, and her sister told me that she hadn’t eaten anything in a month, and hadn’t even been able to keep down water in days. She was near death. We prayed for her, and called on the mercy of heaven. The presence of God descended so thick around her. When we finished praying, we asked her to sit up. She sat up, and we handed her a bottle of water. She guzzled it down with no problem, praise God! Then we helped her stand up and strength entered into her body! She stood up, we hugged, and she walked home beside her sister, the two of them rejoicing!
Our God is the restorer of life! He came to set the captives free, and He has anointed us all to bring deliverance and healing for all who are oppressed by the devil!
We returned home rejoicing at the goodness of God. Hundreds of souls had been saved and the miracles took place in the midst of a village that people had proclaimed we would be unable to reach because of the amount of witchcraft! I prayed that night before I went to bed, weeping and rejoicing and thanking my great God for His boundless goodness, love and mercy!
Two days later, we went for a walk to visit some of my neighbours, and we shared God’s love with them. We walked over to an old Papa’s house. He has had terrible pain in his lower back and legs for a long time, and has had great difficulty walking. We worshipped God, and prayed and released God’s goodness into him. After we finished praying, he jumped up and down several times, laughing! Yay God! We left his house, and walked over to another house where a very old mama was very sick. We prayed for her, and she praised God, saying that she felt such a beautiful presence of God! She told us she loved Jesus very much! Then she asked if we could pray for her hearing, because she was nearly deaf. We prayed for her and then I quietly called to her from where I was kneeling. She turned immediately to look at me when I called her, rejoicing that her ears had popped open!
We hugged her lovingly and then moved on to the home of a member of our church who had been feeling very unwell for a few weeks. She had been unable to come to church for weeks. I asked her what was wrong and she said she couldn’t breathe well. When she walked even a very short distance, her chest would ache and she would run out of breath. She also told us that she has been coughing up blood recently. We prayed for her and she began manifesting a demon. She was shaking and coughing, and couldn’t breathe. We prayed and cast out the demon in Jesus’ name, and it left her! She was suddenly set free, and all pain left her and she was healed! Praise God! She was at Church on Sunday rejoicing in God!
What a week of miracles and the goodness of God being poured out. I not only remember the miracles I saw, but I rejoice when I remember the faces of all the ones who have been set free by the love of God! Each one is so very special and has received a touch from a loving God that has changed their lives forever and the lives of their family and friends who witnessed these miracles! I remember the daughter of the deaf and mute lady, who rejoiced and laughed as she witnessed her mother being set free and healed! I remember the look on the sister’s face as she walked back home with the sister that she had desperately carried over to us moments before! I remember the joy on the old mama’s face as her hearing was restored to her! I have gone back to God in the secret place and just been undone by His goodness and love as He has poured Himself out on those beautiful, desperate people. Miracles aren’t magic tricks done by God to give us a buzz when we pray! Miracles are acts of God’s love poured out on desperate people whom He desperately loves! And the fact that we get to partake in those acts of God’s love just overwhelms me every time!
I pray that you are overwhelmed and undone, and inspired to step out in God, look into the eyes of the one hurting person in front of you, and be moved by compassion to release the love and goodness of God into their lives! You have been anointed by God to release His love on a dying world! Be His hands and feet… be God’s heart! Go out and shine for Jesus!
With all our love to you,
Rosalyne Field
