Over the past 15 months, Iris Knysna has joyfully embraced a new ministry location—Immanuel Hope Center, based in Oupad, an informal settlement neighboring Hlalani. This expansion marks a significant step in our mission to bring tangible expressions of God’s love to the most vulnerable.
We are deeply encouraged to see the Presence of Jesus touching lives in powerful ways across both our Hlalani and Oupad communities. There’s a growing sense of hope, transformation, and healing as hearts are stirred and lives are changed.
Our Hlalani location continues to be a place of refuge and encounter, known as Indlu Ka Bawo—The Father’s House—a name that speaks of identity, belonging, and restoration. Now, with the addition of Immanuel Hope Center, meaning “God with us,” we are seeing this same spirit of family and faith take root in Oupad.
At Immanuel Hope Center, a variety of ministries have been launched to meet both practical and spiritual needs:
A food kitchen that currently serves nearly 150 people each day, offering not just nourishment, but dignity and compassion.
Computer classes for out-of-school youth, equipping them with essential skills and hope for a brighter future.
Vibrant Kids Clubs that create a safe space for children to learn, play, and experience the love of Jesus.
And plans are well underway to open a preschool in the coming year, laying an early foundation of education and care for the youngest in the community.
We are filled with gratitude and expectancy for all God is doing and will continue to do through these centers. It is a privilege to witness His Kingdom come in such real and beautiful ways—bringing light, life, and lasting hope to every heart and home we serve.
