About Knysna
At Iris Knysna, we believe that "The love and presence of Jesus transforms life."
We are based in Knysna, in the Southern part of South Africa.
Iris Knysna started 15 years ago when Lois Gardner felt a call from the Lord to pray, serve and love in the informal settlements in the East of Knysna. She then started a Soup Kitchen to feed the community. Throughout the years, a Preschool was build so that the community would not only be fed, but could get a good education that was grounded spiritually.
Ten years later, the food programs are still going on and the preschool has grown. Every year, pupils graduate from the preschool to go attend elementary school.
We have now several afterschool programs for the children and the teeenagers.
Throughout the years, Hlalani has been transformed, and we have seen the poverty decrease, infrastructures being built and people more and more open to the Gospel.

Pray. We need your support! Pray for Hlalani to be transformed by the love of the Father, hearts to be open and hunger for Jesus & kids and teenagers to know their identity in Christ as they fall in love more and more with their Saviour.
Visit & Serve. Every year we welcome teams to come and join us in our daily programs. Short term and long term visit are welcome.
