Brazil: São José da Tapera
About São José da Tapera
São José da Tapera in located in the remote and arid state of Alagoas, Brazil. It is a strategic outreach region because three of the least evangelized peoples in Brazil make this region home: Quilombolas (referring to members of a community of descendants of African slaves in Brazil), Gypsies, and country people.
Since 2018 we have worked closely in these communities developing relationships through outreach and discipleship programs. We planted a church in the village of Piedade, where there was no Christian or evangelical churches, and have planted churches in other cities where we are seeing many salvations.
Iris Kids: we work with our kids 3 times a week, 90 children per week, in 2 different locations. Discipleship, basic food, and activities.
Adult literacy
we work with adult literacy. We are inserted in a reality where many people do not know how to read and write, which places them far from the Word of God. Our goal is to bring dignity and bring them closer to the word of life.
Church planting and discipleship
We believe in the advancement of the Gospel, and we share Jesus and His love with those around us. We believe in establishing a firm foundation in the truth of His Word and make discipleship groups a top priority for our team and those coming into the Kingdom.
