Mozambique: Lichinga

About Lichinga

We rejoice to see ministry as the fruitfulness that naturally flows out of our intimacy with God.

Our aim is to create a dwelling place for our Lord Jesus in our center and in the hearts of people. We’ve been entrusted to care for a ministry center where worship to His name is the center of everything we do! The Lord’s presence is highly valued here, and nothing of importance is done without Him. We lay things aside to be part of the generation God is raising up to pursue holiness, live in intimacy, and dwelling in the presence as a lifestyle. We all share the same heart to extend the kingdom of God, evangelize and bring in the lost, disciple people into abiding in Christ, and release people into the destiny God has for their lives. We are part of the people the Lord is calling forth to be carriers of His presence and glory into the nations!

Our ministry is located in the city of Lichinga in the northwestern corner of Mozambique. We sere the Lord in a community made up of many different languages, cultures, and religions. Our current areas of ministry focus on evangelism, discipleship with our local church members, and full-time care for orphaned and vulnerable girls.

Farm
We are working to cultivate a farm at our center to improve our self-sustainability and provide both agricultural and business training to our community.

Training Center
We want to equip our community with a variety of skills to give them tools to stop the cycle of poverty.

Village of Joy Girls’ Home
The Village of Joy is run through our local church for the care of girls ages 5-18 years. As of now, there are 10 girls living in the home between the ages of 10-17 years. These girls have come from a context of vulnerability and through the Department of Social Welfare were brought to us to be taken care of. The pastors of the local church, Salomao & Irene, felt the need to become parental references and are currently responsible for the care of the girls besides their own three daughters. They are also in the process of developing small businesses for the older girls to be involved in to create more permanent ways of self-sustainability for the daily necessities as well as investing in their futures such as university and developing their own private businesses.
