Nicaragua: Beauty for Ashes
About Beauty for Ashes
Beauty for Ashes was born in the trash dumps of Managua, Nicaragua and passionately serves the communities that call the dumps home. We focus on worship, living life as family, educating children from the dumps, and discipleship. We love teaching and demonstrating the Gospel and brining others into family where they can be loved and raised up to look like Jesus. We also host “Mas Fuego” gatherings around the country to build stronger relationships with local churches and missionaries.
Our heart is to see the Kingdom of God come; for heaven to touch earth in the trash heaps of Nicaragua.
Children of Destiny Scholarship Program
This scholarship program covers the schooling fees for children living in the dumps who otherwise would not be able to attend school. Education disrupts the repetitive cycle of generational poverty, decreases drug use in children, and contributes to a decline in teenage pregnancy. Children in this program also receive lunch, school supplies, uniforms, shoes, and medical care.
Church & House of Prayer
We desire to purchase land next to the trash dup to build a church and prayer house. This facility would also be used in the afternoons as additional space for our After School programs.
Missions School & Pastors’ Training Scholarship
We host annual conferences for local pastors and missionaries as well as a 10-week intensive school for local Nicaraguans who feel called to missions and church planting. Our vision is to invest in those who are serving in Nicaragua, are hungry for more of God, and who want to live a radical Christian lifestyle. We provide scholarships for most of the locals who attend.
