Hola from Nicaragua! We are so excited and grateful to announce that the Lord has expanded our team as well as our children’s discipling and tutoring program beside the Nueva Vida trash dump! We have doubled the amount of kids in this program from last year. Glory to the Lord! However, because of that, we have outgrown our little space. This month we will build an extension on the homework area, add desks that we had hand built by a local carpenter from up-cycled shipping pallets and also we are building a small outdoor kitchen so we have space to prepare food for all of the new kids in the program. Our gratitude overflows each time we get to remove a child from the trash heaps and bring them into family and see them trade trash for an education and a future.
Our current center also received some much needed love in the form of paint and art! A local team of young Nicaraguans with YWAM came and spent a week hosting VBS for the kids, worship nights beside the trash dump and also painting beautiful prophetic murals at our children’s center ❤️
This month we also received an incredible visit from Papa Mel Tari! He came to Nicaragua and brought us so much encouragement, wisdom and love. He shared his testimony at local churches, on tv and with the kids from the Nueva Vida trash dump and spent hours ministering to our team. We are filled with encouragement and joy. We are so grateful for our Iris Global family and how well they love and champion us as we work to fulfill the great commission together ♥️ If you have never read Mel’s book, Like A Mighty Wind, I highly recommend it!!
Lastly, we are celebrating our 7 year anniversary of being here in Nicaragua! This ministry started in 2013 with about 300 dollars and a yes on our lips. The Lord is eternally faithful! We never could have dreamed or imagined the adventures that we would experience with Jesus. We have gotten to do some pretty amazing things but nothing compares to what Christ has done IN us in these last 7 years and the people He has brought into our lives. Whatever He is inviting you to do with Him, cast all of your fears and worldly logic aside and trust Him. His plans are so much better than ours! It won’t always be easy but it will be wildly worth it! You were created for this! We love you all ❤️
