Miracle baby, Tsou

This week we are reflecting on the miracle of our little boy, Tsou! Four years ago this week he came to us as a newborn baby. He was the child of a teenage girl in our village who had severe special needs and severe epilepsy and you can imagine how she ended up pregnant... his life was off to a difficult start.

Tsou was born fitting and was sent by the clinic (on the bus! fitting!) to special care at a hospital in town. His mom died shortly after, at sixteen years old, of an epileptic fit. Nobody else in his family was able to look after him, and after three days in hospital he was sent home to us very sick. He was fitting every five minutes, he was very jaundiced, he could not drink, and was very sleepy. The hospitals here had no phototherapy lights for him to use, no way to clear up his jaundice and we didn't know what to do. God knew! When it all seemed impossible He stepped in and found an amazing way to save this precious boy!

Our friend Tanja had a potable incubator (the ONLY one in the country!) and a phototherapy light!!! She very generously gave them to us to use. We set up a special care room in the living room of our director's house. We tube fed him every 3 hours through a tube in his nose, and he remained and slept under the phototherapy lights. We stayed at his side every day. His jaundice went away and HE LIVED! He did amazingly!! Our friend Jennifer, a great neurologist, was here, and she diagnosed his frequent fits and got him onto medicine that controlled them well. We saw God heal him of many things since that time!

4 YEARS AGO TODAY! He is healthy, he is happy, he hasn't fitted for years, and he goes to school and learns well... he is GORGEOUS and sweet and cuddly and wonderful!
