:: Baptism ::

It was with great joy that a few weeks ago we baptized two new believers from the Zambujal community: Dona Paula and Pedro (fictitious names), who we have been discipling for about a year.

On the day that Pedro read in the Bible about baptism, he asked us when he could do it himself. We explained the meaning of this step, but we thought it was a bit early. It was through his insistence that we were convinced - he wanted to make it clear that he had decided to follow Jesus!
When Dona Paula found out, she also wanted to be baptized. The unshakable firmness of this lady of almost 70 years has touched us deeply.

On the day of her baptism, Dona Paula's face reflected immense joy, as she said: 'I want the way of Jesus!' Pedro, after going under the water, continued to pour water over himself, reminding us of the passage in John 13:8,9:
"Peter said to him, You will never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, Unless I wash you, you have no part with me. Simon Peter said to him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. "

The growth of these two believers has been an encouragement to us. Pray for them and for those to come!
