In 2004, after 15 years in various areas of ministry, which included leading numerous teams to Iris Ministries in Zimpeto and experiencing their heart for the poor, Pastor Yolanda and her family chose to persue the heart of Iris. The relationship with Iris Ministries continues and due to the likeness of hearts and vision, Footprints became a friend of Iris, an Iris affiliated Ministry which led to Footprints becoming an Iris Global base outside Johannesburg. A passion for caring for orphaned, abused and abandoned children had always been her hearts desire, causing her to be involved with children’s homes, shelters and community projects from a young age. She has lectured at Universities, Bible colleges, conferences and churches. Has taught workshops on subjects such as emotional healing, Identity, Adoption, social development, early childhood development and foster care. “Footprints is not a children’s home, it’s a home with many children,” says Pastor Yolanda, “Passion for the lost, the unloved, healing the broken-hearted and introducing people to the Father’s heart,is at the center of all we do, as we see our Heavenly Father changing them daily and bringing them victory”. As often as possible, the Iris-Footprints children join their “mommy” in taking God’s Kingdom to the poor. It’s exciting to see young children walk in their destiny, praying down miracles over the lives of people. Both her daughters, Sylvia and Kerry have grown up in ministry, worship and outreaches.
