Sharing the Gospel for Easter

Written by Carly Brown

For Easter this year our Family at the Family Center wanted to go out and share the Gospel and pray for people. Our family center currently houses a Mom and her 4 kids (her husband is in prison) as well as Miguel who has been out of prison 1 month. We also have a bolivian family who is a part of our team that lives there. We live in community and are one big family.

We headed to the park by our house and began to pray that God would direct us. As we prayed My oldest daughter Annorah felt that we were supposed to pray for a women in Red. Half the team gathered together to worship in the center of the park and pray and half the team started walking around the park.

It was hard to get started, it felt like there was a lot of warfare. We had brought easter eggs with candy in them to hand out and started giving them to the children we saw. A women with a red shirt was sitting on a bench with a man and we felt to walk up to her and share an egg with her little son. After chatting with them we noticed she was reading a tract. Her friend told us that he was sharing the gospel with her. They had met in the park just then for that very purpose...We shared with her that we were in the park to share Jesus and that God had led us to her “red shirt” haha.
We told her that God was speaking to her. She said she wanted to receive Jesus and we got to pray for her. It was so beautiful. We had three other families we got to pray with and share words from God.
God wants to speak to the people around you. It’s ALWAYS hard at first....But it’s ALWAYS worth it!!
