Mikaela

"You can call me MIKAELA DOMINGO JOAO.

I am 14 years old. I thank God for looking after me throughout the year of 2017. I completed my 7th grade, and let me tell you something that I never imagined would happen to me: I managed to do so well in my grades at school that I was promoted to the 8th grade without having to do the public exams! I am so happy and I utterly thank God for doing this great thing in my life!

There were many other wonderful things that happened to me in 2017:
The first of June was a special day for us all as we celebrated children's day: we commemorated the day at the memorial centre, we marched to the music of the police band, danced and sang, there were many other children and everyone was very festive!
We later went home and Pastor Tomas and granny Alet along with other adults gave us a special lunch and made us dance and we were all very happy.
The 16th of June was world children's day, so we went to the memorial centre and marched again and sang the national anthem and other songs. It was very nice too. We also had a special lunch and a man from social welfare came and spoke and encouraged us.
Another very special time for me was when mama Jenifa came to see us, I was content! She took us to Pastor Tomas' house and she gave us gifts-I liked mine the most! We all slept together and watched a movie, it was all so special.
So I thank God for this special year!
