'turn from witchcraft to Jesus'

Written by Rachel Jane Wallace

Really early one hot sunny morning in Mahajanga, Madagascar, the doorbell rang. As we opened the gate we met 12 year old 'Dokylahy' and his Aunt. Dokylahy was from a family who were heavily involved in witchcraft. He was very fearful after having a terrible accident where his leg was severely wounded. When we met Dokylahy a fractured bone was sticking out of his leg and he had been continually weeping for four months. Because of poverty Dokylahy was not able to receive the medical care he needed and there was even talk of having his leg amputated. We have been lavishing Dokylahy and His family in the love of God, praying for them, encouraging them and practically demonstrating the love of Jesus to them by enabling Dokylahy to be able to have a successful operation in the hospital. Dokylahy is recovering well and he regularly reads the bible we have given him. He is often telling the fellow patients and nurses in his ward to 'turn from witchcraft to Jesus'.
